Crime Victims Leave – R.I. Gen. Laws § 12-28-13

Covered Employers: Employers in the state with 50 or more employees

Employee Eligibility: All employees

Entitlement: Employers must allow employees who are crime victims to attend court proceedings related to the crime. Employers may limit crime victim leave if it creates an undue hardship on employers’ businesses. This leave is also for victims of domestic or sexual violence. The employee can not be retaliated against in the event that they need to obtain an order of protection. This leave is also for victims of domestic or sexual violence. The employee cannot be retaliated against in the event that they need to obtain an order of protection.
