Louisiana School Activities – LA Rev Stat Tit 23 § 1015

Covered Employers: All Employers

Employee Eligibility: All employees with dependent children

Entitlement: Up to 16 hours may be used within any 12 month period to attend, observe or participate in conferences or classroom activities at a school or child day care center related to the employee's dependent children for whom the employee is the legal guardian, if the conferences or classroom activities cannot reasonably be scheduled during the nonwork hours of the employee.

Obligation to Provide Certifications or Documents Supporting Need for Leave: Employees must provide reasonable notice of the need for leave, and make a reasonable effort to schedule the leave so as not to not unduly disrupt the operations of the company.

Paid?: Unpaid. But an employee must be permitted to substitute any accrued vacation time or other appropriate paid leave for any leave taken pursuant to the law.

Benefits: Continue

Reinstatement: Employee must be reinstated to his or her position
