Covered Employers: Employers with at least 50 employees

Employee Eligibility: Employees who have worked 1250 hours in the previous 12 months and have been employed for 12 months and employed at a worksite with at least 50 employees within 75 miles

Entitlement: 2 weeks (or 10 work days) of leave per child who has died, to be taken within 60 days of the date on which the employee knows of the death of the child. (Note: the Absence product does not have an automated way of identifying that 60-day window because it is impossible to identify in the system when the employee learned of the child's death.) "Child" means an employee's biological, adopted, or foster child, stepchild, legal ward, of a child of a person standing in loco parentis. If more than one child dies, the employee may be entitled to up to 6 weeks of leave within one year.
